By now, you’ve probably heard about Joe Buck’s ill-fated HBO talk show debut last night. Those unfortunate souls who watched it said it sucked. The rest of us have mocked him throughout the day.
One of the guests, Artie Lange, did manage to provide some entertainment, but only in a train-wreck, David Brent sort of way.
As Paul Rudd, Jason Sudekis, and Michael Irvin looked on, Lange roasted Joe Buck completely, but Buck looked completely lost and unable to handle it all. Lange wasn’t particularly funny, especially his homophobic comments, but that’s not the point. Someone who is hosting a talk show should be able to control a guest, and Joe Buck clearly can’t.
Following the show, Buck & HBO feigned outrage at what happened, while Artie Lange claimed they had wanted it all along. Of course they did. We’re all talking about Joe Buck Live today, a fact that Joe Buck & HBO must be pleased with. Good luck getting anyone to tune in for the next episode though, Joe.
